Knappett rescues students OXFORD UCCE captain Josh Knappett led from the front with an impressive 77 to help his side salvage an unlikely draw against Derbyshire in their opening first-class fixture of the season in The Parks.
Knappett was one of three players to score a half-century in the students' second innings, after being set 340 when Derbyshire declared their second innings on 122-2.
The skipper shared a partnership of 97 for the fifth wicket with Peter Wilshaw and some late-order defiance led the home side to 300-8.
Chris Taylor and Michael Di Venuto were the batting stars for Derbys with 102 and 88 respectively in their first innings.
