Two classic car enthusiasts will go that extra mile to celebrate the Queen's 80th birthday. John Ford and his wife Ann, who live on the Ladygrove estate, Didcot, will be at the wheel of one of 80 British classics taking part in a special car run to Buckingham Palace.
The cars, one from every year of Her Majesty's life, will represent the cream of British engineering and design.
And the Fords' Morris Minor 1000 has been chosen to fly the flag for 1958.
Saturday's rally, organised by the All-Party Parliamentary Motor Group, will run from Westminster to the Palace where the drivers, all in appropriate costume, will be met by the Duke of Gloucester.
Mr Ford, assistant national secretary for the Morris Minor Owners Club, said: "We have done the parliamentary run before but this year will be special. We will be going to the Palace with all the other vehicles and lining up for the photograph."
