Boat Race Day has always been a pleasure for me and I was well impressed by Oxford's rowing prowess on the Thames the weekend before last. I was proud to have cheered the team on.
However, I will not be supporting them again.
It is bad enough that their president, apparently, damaged somebody else's property and is still not hanging his head in shame (Oxford Mail, April 5).
It is worse to know that this 'Jack the Lad' has not realised he is now a father, and as such, should be adjusting his behaviour to set the standard for the child he is responsible for.
Hardly an auspicious start. When will Barney Williams and his ilk realise that they just appear to be stupid, spoiled brats.
Doesn't he want his child to be proud of him, and a class act to follow if he so chooses?
Barney, you should be ashamed of yourself, but it seems a sign of the times that you are not.
