Former Oxford United chairman Firoz Kassam has come under fire again from a pensioner who claims her garden is being dest- royed by mud flooding in from a car park at the Kassam Stadium.

Maureen Ballard, of Minchery Farm Cottages, says that mounds of earth left two years by contractors laying the car park at the stadium, in Grenoble Road, Minchery Farm, have never been removed.

When it rains, mud from the mounds runs off into her garden, which backs on to the car park.

The 75-year-old said that in recent weeks, soil dislodged from the pile by heavy rain had started to push down part of her garden fence.

She said: "My daughters have written to Mr Kassam about it, but nothing is happening. It's an utter disgrace."

Mrs Ballard's daughter Teresa Govern, of Barton, said she had written to the stadium on three occasions to complain about the problem, but had not received any response.

She said: "We would like Mr Kassam to come down and have a look at the damage. It looks horrendous, and it really upsets my mother. She's a pensioner and can't possibly sort it out herself.

"My late father used to keep the garden beautiful, but now he's not here to do anything.

"It just makes matters worse when it's deteriorating through no fault of her own."

Kassam Stadium operations manager John Angus said he was not aware there was a problem, but would contact Mrs Ballard and rectify it immediately.

He said: "We weren't aware of any issue, but now the Oxford Mail has brought it to our attention, we will be dealing with it."

Mr Angus said the car park was laid in 2004 and it was a condition of planning consent that a barrier remained between the six cottages at Minchery Farm and the car park.

Although Mr Kassam sold Oxford United Football Club to businessman Nick Merry last month, he still owns the stadium and amenities at the neighbouring Ozone leisure complex.
