A homeless man was ordered to pay £200 after he got drunk and kicked a police officer in the leg.
Michael Ciraki, 43, pleaded guilty to charges of being drunk and disorderly and resisting arrest when he appeared at Oxford Magistrates' Court at the weekend.
Jenny Stone, prosecuting, told the court that Ciraki, of no fixed address, had been spotted in the city centre on Thursday evening by CCTV operators.
The court heard he had been behaving drunkenly on Magdalen Street, and was ejected from Sainsbury's before he banged on the shutters of Debenhams department store.
He also banged on the window of the Bella Pasta restaurant in George Street, scaring diners inside.
Ms Stone told the court he then made an unprovoked attack on a male passerby, knocking off the man's spectacles.
When he was approached by police soon afterwards, he became abusive and when they attempted to restrain him, he kicked one of the officers twice in the leg.
Ciraki, who apologised and said he was embarrassed by what he had done, was ordered to pay a £100 fine for each offence.
