OXFORD City got back to winning ways, but had to come from behind to secure a 2-1 win over Tring Athletic and extend their lead at the top of the Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division to five points.
Tring took the lead against the run of play in the 31st minute, when Danny Gray gathered the ball in midfield and fired past City keeper Carl Wilkins.
Before half-time Jon Gardner forced Eldridge into a save at the second attempt.
In the second half, City continued their dominance and equalised in the 55th minute.
From a free-kick, Mark Jones glanced on a header to substitute Ray Spence, who drove the ball home.
A quick free kick by David Whicker went close for Tring, but it was the home side who enjoyed most of the possession.
A fierce shot from Spence was parried by Tring keeper Keith Eldridge and cleared before City scored the winner in the 73rd minute.
An excellent centre from Spence found Jones, who swivelled and hammered in to give them a much-needed win.
Oxford City: Wilkins, Durrant, Bedwell, Marriott, Craker, Merritt, Burnley (Potter 76), Jones (Douglas 84), Hartley (Spence 45), Mitchell, Gardner.
