It is more than three years since I began getting cheesed off by the number of disabled parking spaces in my neighbourhood and I am sure it applies across the county that stand empty and unused because the people for whom they were designed had stopped driving, moved on or died. Some of them were many years out of date. Our city councillor Susanna Pressel took up the cause but got nowhere, such are the legal complications involved.
You might be able to guess what's coming next. Yes, the road engineers flush with cash at the end of the financial year have just been round with their paint and confirmed these unwanted spaces once again. Not only is this utterly absurd, it is also hugely annoying. At night, these spaces are usually the only ones in the whole neighbourhood that stand empty. But park in one of them, and you'll sure as hell get a ticket in the morning.
That's more money into the coffers of the odious Control Plus.
