MORRIS Motors Exiles made the most of taking part in the only match played
in the whole league on Saturday.
The Exiles beat hosts Cropredy by five wickets to go top of the Division 3
table.
In a match reduced to 40 overs a side by the wet weather, Cropredy were
bowled out for 148. Jamil Faruq (4-53) and Irfan Shah (5-26) did the damage, with the last wicket falling in the final over.
All other games in the league were abandoned without a ball being bowled
The visitors lost wickets in reply, but Asif Mohammed (35) and Aftab Alam
(39) scraped together enough runs to engineer a victory.
The other matches in all nine divisions were abandoned without a ball being
bowled. Kidlington and Shipton-under-Wychwood lead the way in Division 1, with 70 points each from three games. Three teams in the league have had points deducted for registration irregularities.
Wallingford are bottom of Division 4 after having 20 points deducted, while
in Division 2, Sandford St Martin and Bledlow Ridge have both been deducted
ten points.
