WHILE Didcot's football team were lifting the FA Vase the town's cricketers were winning by three wickets at home to Brackley. Matt Jones was the hero, taking 8-28 in a 15-over spell as the visitors were bowled out for 131. Viraj Perera then hit 55 not out to hold together the successful run chase.

Mark Podbery struck 12 fours as he batted throughout for Challow & Childrey 2nd to finish undefeated on 101. He received support from his brother Neil and Owen Dimbylow, who both hit 42 in Challow's 251-4. Dimbylow then took 4-39 as Buckingham Town 2nd struggled to 182-8.

Cumnor 2nd beat Horspath by nine wickets in a game that was not as one-sided as the scoreline suggests. Asked to bat, Horspath scored 40 from the first six overs, before they were reined in by Craig Evans (3-56) and Julian Easterbrook (3-62). Martin Hunter then hit 16 fours and a six in an unbeaten 94 as Cumnor passed the 138 to win.

Lee Ainsworth (65) and his brother Warren (52no) put Wallingford in a seemingly strong position at Princes Risborough. But 205-7 proved inadequate as Andy Hitchcock (85) and Dave Linger (62) set up a four-wicket win, despite the best efforts of Matthew Green (5-49).

Long Marston captain Ian Demain took 4-42 to limit Milton Keynes Park 2nd to 173-6, then hit 44 as his side eased to a seven-wicket win.
