ABINGDON Vale continued their flying start to the season by giving Sandford St Martin a fearful thrashing at Hales Meadow. The visitors chose to bat and were not too disappointed with their total of 161-7, which featured 68 from Mark Robey. But their efforts were put into perspective by left-hander Matthew Chown (85no) and his opening partner Ben Humpage (66no), who took Vale to a ten-wicket win with more than 11 overs in hand.

Steve Kelly took 6-43 for Witney Mills to set up a four-wicket win at Bledlow Ridge. Russell Turner (55) and Andrew Binnie (46) were the only Ridge batsmen to get on top as the home side were dismissed for 169. Mills made it two wins out of two by cruising to 170-6 in 41 overs.

Cumnor regretted dropping Andrew Sabin before he reached double-figures as the former Oxon opener went on to reach 96 not out in Banbury 2nd's crushing nine-wicket win.
Steve Beck was also unbeaten on the same score as the visitors passed the hosts' 259-5 with five overs to spare. Earlier Cumnor's Graham Scott (102) and Dan Gaunt (69) had put on 150 for the first wicket.

Wolverton Town crashed to a second heavy defeat, this time at Great & Little Tew. Put into bat, Town made 124 as Steve Murrey (4-28) kept the scoring down in a miserly 14-over spell. Craig McCallum (46no) then steered Tew to their first win by eight wickets.

Two South Africans dominated the match between Oxford Downs and Tiddington and it was the visitors' foreign import who came out on top. Riaan Krynauw took 3-19 then crashed 13 fours in an unbeaten 73 as Tiddington rushed to a nine-wicket win inside 26 overs. Godlam Byayat (46) top-scored in Downs' meagre 109, in which the home side lost Luke List with a broken thumb.
