THE first league match at Oxford Downs' new improved Standlake ground ended in a home win. Matt Bolton (68) top-scored in Bledlow Village's 223-8, before Ian Caunce smashed three sixes and nine fours in a quickfire 75 and 16-year-old Frankie Crouch (53no) saw Downs 2nd home by four wickets.

Veterans Brian Griffiths (46) and Steve Partington (45) helped Banbury Twenty 2nd to 132-5 and victory over Stanton St John Willows. Rezwan Rana hit 50 in Willows' 131 all out.

Oxford & Bletchingdon Nondescripts 2nd's Sameer Faruqi (4-15) and Ross Brown (4-42) combined to dismiss Shipton-under-Wychwood 2nd for just 91, securing a 76-run victory. Earlier, Nondies made 167 after being asked to bat, Dwight Thomas finishing unbeaten on 44.

Hasnain Raza, who broke the league batting record with 1,236 runs last year, started off with 97 this term as Stokenchurch beat Tiddington 2nd with ease. Their 235-4 was always too much for the visitors, who slipped to 16-6 and then 50 all out.

Chearsley won by two wickets chasing Aston Rowant's 140-9, despite Harry Sheppard's 6-62. had the visitors in trouble, but Tom Whitelaw saw them home at 144-8.
