ED Phillips almost came of age with a century as Banbury 2nd slipped to a
33-run defeat at home to Wolverton Town.
Phillips looked set to mark his 18th birthday with a ton, but holed out to
the boundary on 98.
Andrew Watkins hit a quickfire 90 as Wolverton got off to a flying start,
with 40 from Colin Kightley and 53 from Arshad Mahmood taking them to an
impressive 275-9.
Ashley Blanchard returned 4-83, but after Phillips's dismissal, his team
fell to 242 all out.

Witney Mills lost for their fourth match in a row but came within two
wickets of springing a surprise at Tiddington.
Put into bat Mills managed just 157-9, with Pete Claridge top-scoring with
40.
Tiddington got off to a poor start against Sagar Nandi Konda (6-82), but
Neil Smith thrashed 33 from 14 balls and Nick Edmondson (40no) took them to
158-8.

Great & Little Tew's Kevin Taylor finished with 4-42 off 19 overs as
Sandford St Martin were restricted to 182-8.
Matt Palmer (45) and Kevin Duester (52) scored the bulk of the runs after
Sandford elected to bat.
The total was made to look woefully inadequate as Tew raced to 185-1 in the
24th over thanks to Steve Clayton (68) and Shane Faulkner (82no).

As a result Tew leapfrog Abingdon Vale, who slumped to a 110-run defeat at
Oxford Downs.
Chris Sandbach (77) and Danny Lee (76) took Downs to 253-7 from 50 overs,
including 23 from Vale spinner Paul White (4-117).
Aussie Mark Latham hit 60, but Downs' South African import Goolam Bhayat
took 7-54 as Abingdon crashed to 143 all out.
**Oxford Downs 30, Abingdon Vale 13
Cumnor are still winless despite having the better of a draw at home to
Bledlow Ridge.
Andy Kelly (62) and Dan Gaunt (45) took the hosts to a 210-7, then opener
Russ Turner hit 51 to give Ridge a platform in reply.
But they ended up hanging on at 188-9.
