LEADERS Kidlington maintained their near-per- fect start to the season as
they overcame fellow title contenders Challow & Childrey by four wickets.
Challow's decision to bat first appeared justified when Aussie Mark Ellison
struck 81.
But his compatriot Ross Lupton took 4-63 and Kidlington skipper Mark Strong
3-42, as the home side were bowled out for 150.
The visitors were indebted to Andrew Buckingham (58) and Shazad Rana (37) as they reached the target with seven overs remaining.
**Challow 12pts, Kidlington 30
Oxford 2nd's Aussie spinner Nathan Absolan was galvanised by the news that
his fellow countrymen had lost to Bangladesh as he promptly sent Kingston
Bagpuize spinning to defeat.
Thanks to Martin Shepherd (62), Bagpuize were cruising on 104-2 after 25
overs in pursuit of Oxford's 211-9.
But Absolan responded to his own team's sledging to take 5-76, while spin
partner Dom Patel took 4-50 to dismiss Kingston for 176.
Earlier Ian Crosby had hit 54 for Oxford, while Barry Collis took 5-82 from
23 overs.
**Oxford 2nd 30, Kingston Bagpuize 16
Paul Atkins struck 113 and John Purcell 53 in Dinton's 235-5, which proved
enough to force a home win over Shipton- under-Wychwood.
The visitors stayed in contention thanks to Paul Hemming (51), Jason
Constable (50) and Simon Hole (41), but Scott Bowler (4-35) and Kelvin
Ripley (3-47) combined to bowl them out for 220.
**Dinton 30, Shipton-under-Wychwood 15
Banbury Twenty looked likely winners when they reduced bottom club Bourton
Vale to 83-7, but Paul Lazenbury (99) marshalled the tail well to take Vale
to 205-9.
Faisal Khalid took 5-70 for Twenty, who were well placed on 150-5 thanks to
Steve Partington's 80.
But their batsmen's lack of application saw them collapse to 193 all out as
Greg Shepherd claimed 4-35.
**Banbury XX 17, Bourton Vale 30
Milton Keynes Park scored just 87 from their first 30 overs, then added 193
from the remaining 20 as they amassed 280-4 after being asked to bat by
Buckingham.
The classy Jamie Wade was undefeated on 110, while captain Graham Simpson
hit 90.
It was no surprise that a shell-shocked Buckingham side then crumbled to
147 all out, despite Rob Large's 69.
**Buckingham 2, Milton Keynes Park 30
