I left home nice and early to swim at Temple Cowley pool in Oxford. The roads were quiet nothing on the Henley Link. It looked good for 70mph, then at the Sainsbury roundabout at Rose Hill, the signs proclaimed a 50mph limit.
Presumably this continued to the Headington roundabout. The police will like this a speed camera or two perhaps. Naturally, people still sped past me on my way to the pool and on my return. Let's face it 50mph is really slow. Soon the red flag will be unfurled. I wonder if the council has a supply of them?
At 50mph, the driver and passengers will appreciate all the muck and rubbish on the verges of our ring road. Was the appointment of two officials to stop flytipping in and around Oxford just in time for April 1?
