CHALLOW & Childrey clinched a thrilling one-wicket victory over Shipton-under-Wych- wood after looking dead and buried on Saturday. In a low-scoring encounter, Shipton could muster only 133 as Lee Stevens returned 5-34. Paul Hemming top-scored with 34. Challow¹s reply started poorly and got worse as they slumped to 45-7 against Stuart Hole, who ripped through the top order with 5-55. They looked out for the count, but No 9 Rob Owen and Stevens had other ideas. They put on 55 for the eighth wicket and although Stevens fell for 28 on 125, Owen sealed a thrilling triumph to finish unbeaten on 46.

Leaders Kidlington stayed well clear at the top after seeing off Buckingham Town by five wickets. Aussie Ross Lupton took superb figures of 7-36 in the home side's paltry 97and athough James Gear (4-13) caused a few anxious moments, Kidlington eased
home.

Strugglers Kingston Bagpuize could scrape only 120 against Banbury Twenty, for whom spinner Stephen Hart returned an impressive 5-24. Dean Burbidge (46) steered Twenty to a seven-wicket win.

Oxford 2nd won a thrilling game against Dinton by three runs. Kelvin Ripley's 5-60 restricted the home side to 156, in-form Chris Thomas top-scoring with 59. Dinton were looking good on 60-1 after 25 overs, but spinner Dom Patel (5-48) kept plugging away and despite a last-wicket stand of 20, Dinton fell just short on 153.
