THE survivor of a head-on car crash in which another man died is making good progress in hospital.
The man, believed to be middle-aged and from Oxford, was taken to hospital minutes after the crash, which happened on Monday at about 8.30am near Islip.
Doctors initially described him as having life- threatening injuries, but his condition later stabilised.
Yesterday, he was still at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, receiving treatment for facial injuries, a broken foot and a damaged knee.
The man who died in the crash is also believed to be local and was 43 years old. He has not yet been formally identified.
Eyewitnesses said they saw him pull out to overtake four cars as a bend in the road approached.
