Chris Hackett says he is totally focused on life at Oxford United - despite being on the brink of a possible move to Hibernian.
The U's winger has attracted interest from the Scottish Premier League outfit, who are keen to add young players with plenty of experience to their squad.
Hackett is out of contract in the summer, and although United are understood to be keen to keep the pacy wide man, they have yet to offer him a new deal.
Hibs would have to pay Oxford a fee - but the U's could lose Hackett for nothing in the summer, and so any money they could get for him now would be seen as good business by chairman Firoz Kassam.
When asked about the possibility of a move north of the border, Hackett replied: "That's not in my thoughts at the moment.
"I'm getting on with playing for Oxford United and will do so until I am told different.
"From what I understand, the ball is in Oxford's court at the moment, so I can't do anything other than continue to do my best for Oxford United."
The 22-year-old has struggled to hold down a first-team spot recently, and is one of the few United players who could command a transfer fee.
Although manager Brian Talbot would no doubt like to retain the services of the former Oxfordshire sprint champion, he may be under pressure from Kassam to generate some cash following the £35,000 double signing of Andy Burgess and John Dempster from Rushden.
Kassam was hoping to use the money from the sale of Craig Davies to Verona to fund the deal, but after Davies turned down a move to Italy, United will be hoping to recoup the money they have spent.
Hackett added: "From what I've heard, there are clubs interested in me from a higher level of football, but it's not in my hands at the moment."
Talbot says that Hackett is still very much in his thoughts for the home game with Darlington on Saturday, despite all the speculation.
"Chris Hackett is a good player," he said.
"Although Hibs have shown an interest in him, no fee has been agreed between the clubs, so as far as I am concerned, he cannot talk to them.
"He is still an Oxford United player, and so will be in the squad on Saturday."
