CHRIS Gibbins successfully defended his Oxfordshire county singles title with a 15-8, 15-9 defeat of Phillippe Craul.
Gibbins, from Oxford, was too strong for the 16-year-old student at the European School in Culham.
The promising Craul had disposed of Jonathan Ponsford in the quarter-final and Oxford University's Felix Hall in the last four, before his excellent run was stopped dead by Gibbins.
Amanda King, of Abingdon, took her first county crown with an unexpected three-game win over favourite Emma Martin, of Banbury.
Martin took the opening game 11-5 and led 10-7 in the second.
But the crucial match point eluded her, and King, last year's runner-up, fought back strongly to take the final two games 12-10, 11-9 for a memorably victory.
David Buckingham and Dave Soanes retained their men's title with a 15-8, 15-10 win over Martin Graham and Paul Casey.
King teamed with Alison Ross to upend the Torgersen sisters, Sarah and Nicola, 15-2, 14-17, 15-6 in the women's doubles.
A third title was successfully defended when Martin Graham and Sarah Torgerson recovered from 0-6 down in the opening game to win 15-9, 15-3 over a fading 36-year-old Buckingham and Martin.
King walked away with the Isis Cup, after being named the most improved player.
