Southern League - Taunton Tn 4, Thame Utd 0: Another heavy defeat leavesThame rooted to the bottom of the Southern League Division 1 West table, but the scoreline flattered Taunton especially after the visitors' battling second-half display.
Two long passes over the top of a flat Thame backline led to Taunton taking a 2-0 lead in the first 20 minutes through Anthony Lynch and Peter Sheppard.
Alex Stewart went close to reducing the arrears but his header went over the bar.
Thame came out fired up for the second half and put the home defence under pressure.
But the game was over as a contest in the 68th minute when Taunton substitute Dean Stevens crashed home a tremendous shot within seconds of coming on.
Taunton's final goal, however, was much disputed, as their second substitute Matt Denton seemed to have run the ball out of play for a goallkick.
But he knocked it back into play and Sheppard tapped it into the goal - and the score was allowed to stand.
Thame's Tony Joyce and Ben Freeman were booked for protesting.
Thame Utd: Searl, Freeman, Joyce, Lane, Hocking, Groves, Franklin, Moore, Spencer, A Stewart (Connelly 70), Boland.
