Banbury Utd 5, Brackley Tn 2: Jon Gardner and Ady Fuller both notched doubles as Banbury United battled back to reach the next round with a thrilling victory against derby rivals Brackley in last night's second qualifying round replay at Spencer Stadium.
Kevin Brock's side now host Conference side Hednesford Town.
Early on, though, Banbury, who were watched by a crowd of 960, were caught cold when Brackley's former Oxford United midfielder Matt Murphy fired his side in front on five minutes.
At the other end, Banbury were limited to long-range shots from Gardner, Andy Baird and Ollie Stanbridge, the last of which Brackley's ex-United keeper Alan Judge did brilliantly to tip over.
Brackley should have made it 2-0 on 17 minutes, but Gardner made a crucial tackle on Jack King after tracking back from the halfway line.
Three minutes later, Brackley were rueing their luck when Gardner headed in the equaliser from Darren Pond's in-swinging corner.
Five minutes from the break, Banbury took the lead when another long-range effort, this time from Fuller, swerved past Judge from 30 yards out.
Banbury came out fired up after the break, with Fuller scoring from the spot on 48 minutes after Wayne Blossom was pulled back.
Judge then had to be alert to palm away Blossom's cross-shot, but he was left helpless on 60 minutes when Matty Gooderick headed in Gardner's cross.
Five minutes later, Gardner slotted home No 5 after racing onto an excellent pass from Stanbridge.
Baird and Gooderick then spurned decent chances to put Banbury out of sight.
Although Robbie Beard clawed a goal back for Brackley, it was too late, as Banbury marched on.
Banbury Utd: Tricker, Blossom, KInch, Sullivan, Pond, Fuller, Stanbridge, Redknap, Gooderick, Baird, Gardner. Subs (not used): McKay, Jackson, Potter, Bridges.
