National League 2: Henley Hawks finally got their season up and running after three losses with a 39-25 win at Harrogate.
Fly half Barry Reeves starred with 19 points in what should prove a morale boosting victory.
Reeves's penalty opened the scoring with a 13th minute penalty.
He then spotted a gap in Harrogate's defence to score under the posts and added the conversion.
Within a minute it was 17-0 when No. 8 Dave Archer broke from half way and wing Chris Simmons was put away for a converted try.
Kiwi Brendan Back got Harrogate off the mark, but Simmons claimed an opportunistic second before the break.
Lock Matt Challiner's try made it 24-10 after some intense pressure, but Andy Macrae burst clear to restore Hawks's 19-point lead.
Strong running centre Jamie Barker and wing Steve Parsons crossed over for Harrogate, eluding Simmons on both occasions.
However he did well to set up a try for full back Adam Slade in between.
Reeves added his second, but Harrogate had the last word with a try from flanker Maifea Maifea.
