GLS Football Hellenic League Premier Division - Shrivenham 7, Abingdon Tn 0: Managerless Abingdon Town's nightmare season continued when they suffered a real hammering in their Premier Division match at Shrivenham on Saturday.
Town sacked their manager Kevin Lewis last week, so assistant manager Thomas Larman and players Pete Culley and Craig Antcliffe were in charge of affairs during this rout.
Keith Stopps, who managed Town in 1998, faces a tough test when he takes charge of the side at traininig tomorrow night.
Following the latest off-the-pitch upheavals, at least a full squad of players turned up for the game.
And for the first half-hour Abingdon held their own against the high-flying home side.
Then, inexplicably things fell apart and they conceded two quick goals to Steve Avenell and Graham Little before the break.
Fletcher Hoey and Mark Brind went close for Abingdon, but after the interval it was one-way traffic once the visitors had seen a strong penalty claim turned down.
The floodgates opened as Little, Avenell and Michael Silvanus made it 5-0.
Even the introduction of Joey Beauchamp as a substitute could not inspire Town, and they conceded further goals by Tate Hulbert and Little, who completed his hat-trick.
North Leigh 4, Almondsbury Town 1: North Leigh crushed Almondsbury with a high-tempo display to go four points clear at the top.
Not even the dismissal of Darren Maisey on the hour could deny Leigh.
By that stage, they were leading thanks to a first-half own goal by Almonds' defender Nathan Lumber from Simon Futcher's corner, and a neat score by Justin Miller
After Maisey's departure, Futcher nodded home North Leigh's third.
In a hectic ten-minute spell, the visitors reduced the arrears though Tom Lewis before Andy McCabe made it 4-1.
Pegasus Juniors 1, Witney Utd 1: Witney's winning run came to an end when they were pegged back by a late equaliser.
United started with John McMahon in place of Mark Habbershaw, but were still missing Matty Allen and Steve Knight.
After a goalless first half, Witney took the lead in the 55th minute. A run by Jamie Cook was crudely halted by Paul Brown.
With Witney players awaiting the award of a penalty, the referee gave a free-kick on the edge of the area.
Tom Butler tapped a quick one to Cook, who fired home to ensure justice was done.
Tom Dingle and Lee Keyes missed chances to seal the game, before Pegasus equalised four minutes from time through Chris Mortlock, after the Witney defence had been caught ball-watching.
Chipping Norton 2, Kidlington 0: Chipping Norton picked up their first victory of the season against a Kidlington side who are still looking for their first point of the season.
In this basement clash, Kidlington came closest to scoring during the first half through Steve Liiten.
Two second-half strikes from Chippy's Shaun McKeon were enough to give Chippy all three points.
He opened the scoring in the 70th minute by rifling home a half-volley shot.
Five minutes from time, the lead was doubled when Richard Archer's free kick from 25 yards was tipped onto the bar by Kidlington keeper Keith Mitchell. McKeon was first to the rebound though and tucked the ball home into an empty net to secure the victory.
Milton United 0, Shortwood United 0: Milton's lack of finishing skills meant they had to settle for a goalless draw.
Simon Kenny and Adam Greenaway each had two clear shots on goal in the first half, while Adam Beckett missed two good chances after the break.
