FA VASE - Farnham Town 1, Wantage Town 2: Two goals by Gavin Jones earned Wantage a narrow victory over their Combined Counties League opponents on Saturday.
Jones put the visitors ahead in the 42nd minute, when given too much room inside the Farnham penalty area.
Wantage lost the services of player- manager Richie Bourne at half-time, and conceded an equaliser by Farnham's Orlando Pike five minutes later.
Wantage came back strongly and regained the lead on the hour, when Jones stole in to slide home after a brilliant through ball from the busy Lee Davies.
Paul Day twice went close as Wantage hung on to earn a tie at home to Sussex side Ringmer in the next round on October 1.
Slimbridge 3, Chipping Norton 0: Chippy bowed out after hosts Slimbridge scored three goals in eight second-half minutes to secure victory.
Joe Tustain had injury-hit Chippy's best efforts, but lacked his usual sharpness in front of goal.
