Frilford Heath's ladies retained the Oxfordshire President's Inter-Club trophy when they beat Tadmarton Heath in a tight final at North Oxford.
The morning semi-finals in this three-pair foursomes event saw Frilford beat Burford 3-0, while Tadmarton overcame Huntercombe 2-1.
The Tadmarton pairing of Samantha Round and Jane Hancock drew first blood in the final by beating Jane Binning and Sarah Webb 3 & 2.
Frilford's Annie Gowing and Andrea James levelled matters when they withstood a strong comeback from Katherine O'Connor and Mavis Pountney to prevail 2 & 1.
So the destination of the trophy rested on the experienced shoulders of Frilford's Roma Wilcock and Liz McPhail, who battled it out in a tight match against Maureen McInnes and Mary Phipps (who came in as an afternoon stand-in for Barbara Smith).
Frilford went ahead early on, but the Tadmarton duo fought their way back to make it a nailbiting finish.
Eventually, the Frilford pair closed them out on the 17th to win 2 & 1.
