A STRONG Radley senior team secured their place back in the UK National League at the qualifying competition at Tilsley Park.
Having been relegated this season for failing to contest a fixture, the team rallied excellently to return to the national stage at the first attempt.
They won the match by 18 points - with the highpoint of the day coming in the final event - the 4x400m relay.
The young team, consisting of two under 17s and two under 20s, smashed the 22-year-old club record by a massive six and a half seconds to clock 3.55.10.
The team had started with under 17 Claire Triggs, who handed over the baton with a clear lead in a split of 1.00.6.
Hannah England increased Radley's lead with a leg of 58.6.
She handed over to Tara Kafke, who in turn passed the baton to Carolyn Plateau, who stormed the final lap in 55.6secs.
Other highlights came from the hurdlers.
Firstly Kay Reynolds knocked a second off her previous personal best to clock an impressive 1.05.5 to win, while her training partner Sophie Plateau won the B string 100m hurdles in a personal best of of 17.2secs.
The other personal best came from Lucy Boggis, who leapt 5.39m in the long jump.
With Radley now returning to the UK League, the club will look to improve on this season and compete at the higher level once again.
