In reply to David Robertson, Oxfordshire County Council's cabinet member for transport, following my letter on the park-and-ride charges (Oxford Mail, September 2), I note that although two of the sites are free, the remainder are not, and it is still £1.90 per person to ride from the sites into Oxford.
Maybe the bus fare will now be increased to cover the 60p lost by dropping the parking charges.
How encouraging is that? A charge of 60p is a drop in the ocean to the council.
I wonder how long it will be before Oxford City Council or the bus company responds by reducing the charges.
Oxford must be one of the most expensive places in the UK to live and shop.
