OXFORD & Bletchingdon Nondescripts claim The Oxford Times Cherwell League were too quick to publicise their punishment for breaking registration rules.
This week Nondies 3rd were expelled from the league and captain Andy Haynes banned from playing.
They were also fined £350, had their fourths relegated a division and their first and seconds docked 30 points.
But club chairman John Brown said: "We are disappointed that the Cherwell League have made this information public before we have had a chance to review its contents and respond appropriately."
He said neither the club nor Haynes would be making any comment on the ruling until their committee had reviewed its content.
Brown stressed: "I would just like to reiterate, that since its merger three years ago, OBNNC has adhered to its mission of providing the opportunity for players of all abilities to play cricket.
"This has all been done, in common with many other clubs, with a small number of dedicated people who give up many hours of their time to spread the cricketing gospel."
League secretary Peter Tomlin said Nondies should have told them that their secretary Chris Bishop was on holiday, so the letter could have been sent elsewhere.
"We posted the executive's findings by Special Delivery on Tuesday," he said.
"Attempted delivery was made by Royal Mail on the following morning, and as they could not deliver the envelope, left a card informing the occupier accordingly."
