POLICE are on the trail of two concrete toadstools stolen from the driveway of an Oxfordshire home.
The toadstools, red with white spots and a dayglow yellow stem, were stolen from a house in Oxford Road, Adderbury, near Banbury, at the weekend.
They belonged to Martin Weatherhead, who was given them as a birthday present from his wife Angela.
She said: "They were very heavy and must have taken some shifting. They were a present for my husband on his birthday, so although they are not worth a lot they do have sentimental value."
A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said: "They may have been dumped somewhere or offered for sale." Now the Weatherheads will need to plant some other form of identification, after the items were snatched at the weekend.
Either way, we will know them when we see them."
The concrete fungi were planted to help visitors spot the driveway leading up to the house.
