A HORSE had to be destroyed and its rider treated in hospital after they were hit by a car.
The 23-year-old woman, from Stratton Audley, near Bicester, was taken to the Horton General Hospital, Banbury, with leg and back injuries.
The accident happened on the A421 Buckingham road, just outside Stratton Audley, yesterday morning .
Motorist Linda Madley, of Fritwell, near Bicester, was uninjured. The rider's identity was not released by police, who are invest- igating the cause of the crash.
An 84-year-old Charlbury woman had to be cut free from her Metro after it was involved in a head-on crash yesterday afternoon.
She suffered leg injuries and was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford. VW Golf driver Julian Brown, also from Charlbury, was uninjured.
The A4130 Didcot to Milton Heights road was closed for an hour on Wednesday morning after a crash involving two cars. One driver suffered head injuries and the other sustained injuries to his chest. A passenger was treated for shock.
