MALCOLM Elias has resigned as Oxford United's youth development officer, writes JON MURRAY.
The Welshman is to take up a similar post at his home-town club Swansea City on April 1 after nine years at the Manor Ground.
United are considering whether to advertise the vacancy or to appoint from within. They currently have three full-time employees in their community and youth development department in Peter Rhoades-Brown, Mark Jones and Les Taylor.
They have reassured parents that there is no threat to their centres of excellence.
Elias said: "I'm sad to be leaving. I've had nine good years at the club but I'd like to think I'm leaving a good legacy.
"It was a huge lure from my home-town club. They have very big plans for a soccer academy in Swansea and also plans for a £75m stadium development centre there."
