OXFORD and County Newspapers - owners of the Oxford Mail - have had their Investor in People accreditation re-nenewed.
The news was announced yesterday after a panel at the Heart of England TEC headquarters, in Abingdon, approved the recommendation of Richard Rose, a senior member of the Birmingham TEC, who carried out the independent assessment of the company earlier this month.
The company, which is owned by Newsquest Media Group Ltd, earned the award three years ago.
Westminister Press was sold to the Newsquest Media Group Ltd just over a year ago and the new owners were anxious that the company should retain the accredition which calls for emphasis on staff training and staff involvement.
The managing director of OCN, Shamus Donald, said: "I am delighted at the news. The conclusions drawn by the independent assessor show us that our business practices are the right ones.
"Everyone here can be proud and feel delighted at the news."
