COUNCIL staff in Oxford have accused managers of ignoring workers' wishes in planning a change-over of staff.
Members of the trade union Unison from Oxford City Council's environmental services department will lobby councillors before Thursday's meeting of the highways and traffic committee at 9.30am.
Martin Gregory, Unison branch secretary for Oxford, said there had not been enough consultation about plans to switch Street Services staff from the council's engineering section to City Works, which is run as a separate company within the council.
"It's been too fast and too quick and a flood of comments have been forwarded to management that have seemed to be ignored," he said.
Alex Hollingsworth, chairman of highways and traffic, said any decision over restructuring lay with the council's personnel committee. But, he added, the new contracts signed between the council and City Works before Christmas had included a switch of some responsibilities from council staff to City Works staff.
