COVENTRY Bees have called up top British star Mark Loram for their visit to Cowley tonight and that could spell danger for Gresham Oxford Cheetahs in their Elite League speedway encounter (7.45pm).

The Wolverhampton star has twice thrilled the crowds here this season with some spectacular stuff.

His presence, backed up by top American stars Greg Hancock and Billy Hamill, means Cheetahs will be under pressure from the off.

The Dane scored only one point here in April when the Bees came from 20-34 down to force a draw with a 5-1 in the final heat. It was dramatic stuff that thrilled the visiting fans.

Oxford welcome back Jason Crump, but how fit he is remains to be seen after another Grand Prix failure in Pocking.

With the signing of Todd Wiltshire confirmed in midweek, several of the team will be riding for their futures. Promoter Steve Purchase, though, has given no clues to which rider may lose out.

Oxford: Crump, Staechmann, Johnston, Hurry, Schofield, Hare.

Coventry: Loram, Tacey, Hamill, Hancock, Robson, Walsh.
