Cricket teams are being invited to take part in a special tournament being held in memory of youngsters Anum and Majid Khan who died in a house fire.
The Oxford Stars Cricket Club is organising an one-day eight-a-side competition and is looking for six teams willing to stand at the crease.
Anum, nine, and 15-year-old Majid died after a fire at their home in Magdalen Road, east Oxford, last year.
Majid was a talented cricketer who represented Cheney School, Headington, and competition organiser Arif Sohail says the planned event, which takes place at Holton Cricket Club, near Wheatley, on July 19, is a fitting tribute to Majid and his sister.
Three teams have already said they will definitely take part and Arif hopes others will come forward to fill the other places.
He said: "I went to the Khan children's funeral and was really touched by it. I had heard that Majid was good at cricket and spoke to his family and this is something I wanted to do." The cost for taking part will be £30 per team, with part of the money collected going to the family.
