Motorist shane Peedle has told how he was chased nose-to-tail at speeds of 70 mph by a road rage driver.

He said he was "frightened for his life" after being overtaken on the inside lane on the Witney bypass and then almost forced on to the central reservation. The man followed him to his home on the West Witney estate.

Mr Peedle, a 25-year-old installation engineer, was on his way home from work in Oxford. He was driving a green Vauxhall Astra estate on the A40 and said he first saw a blue Ford Mondeo estate behind him after the Cassington roundabout.

"When we got to the Witney bypass, I went to overtake the traffic in front and he came right up behind, flashing me to get over."

Mr Peedle, who lives with his girlfriend at Farmington Drive, added: "He got out of his car and came right up to my face, telling me he was going to do me over. Fortunately, my girlfriend was watching from the window and I don't think he wanted witnesses."

The Mondeo driver is described as in his 40s, big built with short black hair.

In another alleged road rage incident in Witney, a pensioner was attacked when he stepped into the road after mistaking a road hump for a pedestrian crossing.
