A man was being treated in hospital today after his neck was slashed with a broken bottle during a night out in Oxford.
A fight broke out in Turl Street at 11.20pm last night. A 31-year-old man, who hasn't been named, was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital for emergency treat- ment.
Insp Brendan Odowda, of Oxford police, said: "A disturbance took place in Turl Street and it would appear that it spilled into the High Street and resulted in a local man sustaining serious neck injuries.
"He was rushed to hospital and is currently being treated."
Today, tape cordoned off the area at the end of Turl Street where the attack took place so officers could carry out forensic checks for evidence.
Witnesses can call the police on 01865 266000.
