GRESHAM Oxford Cheetahs go into speedway action with former world champion Billy Hamill at No 1 for the visit to arch rivals Swindon Robins in an Elite League encounter tonight (7.30pm).
Hamill, the 1996 champion, has been called in as guest for the injured Jason Crump.
It will be the first time since the Hans Nielsen days that Cheetahs have tracked a former world No 1.
They also include him for the meeting against Wolves tomorrow, but it will need a superhuman effort from the Oxford lads if they are to get anything out of tonight's clash.
The Robins are looking pretty strong now after signing John Jorgensen and allowing promising Dane Charlie Gjedde to drop down to reserve.
In Jimmy Nilsen and Leigh Adams they have two of the leading lights in the Elite and with Brian Karger and Philippe Berge at No 6 it looks a daunting prospect for Oxford.
However, Cheetahs, are on a roll following two wins and a draw, and will be in no mood to surrender easily.
Cheetahs have won once and lost by two and 12 points on their three previous visits to the Abbey Stadium this season.
Swindon: Nilsen, Jorgensen, Adams, Karger, Gjedde, Berge.
Oxford: Hamill, Johnston, Wiltshire, Hurry, Schofield, Staechmann.
