Oxford United's first two Nationwide League games next season will be all-ticket affairs - including their home opener against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Following discussions with police, United made the all-ticket decision on safety reasons.

Wolves, one of the best supported teams in Division 1, are expected to fill the Cuckoo Lane end visitors' section for the game on August 15.

Members wil be able to buy one ticket from next Monday, while tickets go on sale to personal callers on Friday July 31 - the day of the Oxfordshire Benevolent Cup game against Greek Cup winners Panionios.

The capacity at the Manor Ground is to remain at 9,572, following close-season checks by safety officers.

United's first league match of the season at Bristol City on Saturday August 8 will also be all-ticket. The club have been allocated 1,800 unreserved covered seats and tickets go on open sale on Monday July 27.

The ticket-office will be open at the club's open day on Sunday August 2, while telephone bookings will be taken from 9.30am the following day.

United say they are awaiting delivery of their fixture cards for next season before sending out membership cards but fans should get these in the next few days.

Seats are selling well for the clash with Panionios.

United have fixed up another friendly for their reserves. They visit North Leigh on August 12 (7.30).

Thetransfer of Dean Windass from Aberdeen to Oxford United could go through today.

Windass signed his three-year contract at the start of the week but the Football League say he has still not been registered so the transfer has yet to go through.

However, Aberdeen chairman Stewart Milne seemedaid unconcerned. "We agreed to a request from Oxford to be given until Thursday for the cheque to clear," he said. "We don't envisage any problems."
