FORMER Oxford Cheetahs speeedway rider Nigel Sparshot has been killed in a car crash.
The 36-year-old was a promising youngster for Cheetahs in the 1970s and '80s. He also rode for Milton Keynes among other clubs.
Oxford's England star Paul Hurry has been given the all-clear after crashing against Poole on Friday.
Hurry hit his lower back hard against part of the gate at the top bend after losing control, but X-rays showed no permanent damage.
Cheetahs' Todd Wiltshire is out of the Grand Prix series after scoring only five points in the qualifier in Hungary on Saturday.
