The decomposed body of a young man was found at an Oxford hostel for the homeless five days after he went missing.
Alexander Keeley, 25, known as "Ali", was discovered in his room on Tuesday at Lucy Faithfull House, in Speedwell Street, St Ebbe's.
The hostel is a residential centre run by the English Churches Housing group.
Mr Keeley told staff he was going away for a few days. His body was found after other residents complained of a strange smell coming from his room.
Police were called to investigate but said the death was not being treated as suspicious.
A spokesman said: "A post mortem examination is being carried out and the coroner has been informed."
Alison Baggott, of English Churches Housing, said Mr Keeley moved in two months ago and appeared to have settled in.
She added: "He was working with staff to address his complex personal issues and there was no indication that Ali might cause himself harm.
"Last Thursday, Ali advised staff he was going to see his family in Lincoln and would be away for a few days. His absence therefore did not cause staff concern.
"Ali's death was a shock to staff of Lucy Faithfull House, who wish to offer their sympathy to his family."
Lucy Faithfull House is named after Baroness Faithfull, a former head of social services in Oxford.
