A third woman has died in the latest of three fatal Oxfordshire road smashes in the past five days.
The pensioner, who is in her 70s, was cycling along a footpath on the B4017 towards Abingdon when the incident occurred shortly after 9am yesterday. (FRI).
The lorry was travelling from Abingdon towards Drayton at the time and traffic accident investigators are now conducting an inquiry. Paramedics took the woman to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, where she was treated for head injuries, but she later died.
On Wednesday, a woman in her late 40s died following a crash in Sutton Courtenay. She was travelling on the B4016 when the smash happened. She has not yet been named.
On Monday, Laura Stibbs, 19, of Colne Drive, Didcot, died, when her car ran off the A420 near Shrivenham.
