UNITED'S players will march out to the sound of It's Like That (That's The Way It Is) by Run DMC at the Manor tomorrow, writes JON MURRAY.
The Oxford Mail and United received dozens of suggestions after manager Malcolm Shotton said he wanted something to pump up the fans at home games.
Yesterday Shotton even stood in the London Road end with the former No 1 hit booming out from the PA system to try it out.
"We're trying to get music to create a good atmosphere," he said. "And it helps the players when they're bouncing and bombing about."
Among the suggestions which arrived at the club were Queen's We Will Rock You, a hit by Chumbawumba and Money's Too Tight To Mention by Simply Red (which came from United's accounts depart- ment!).
Oxford Mail readers suggested the following:
Step into My World, by Oxford pop band Hurricane No 1 (from Darren Atkinson, of Bicester);
We're Gonna Win, by Bryan Adams, from the18 till I die album (from Mrs C Matthews, of Kidlington);
The Boys are Back in Town, by Thin Lizzy (from Vicki Lane, of Kennington);
I Will Survive , by Gloria Gaynor (from Mick Wargrove, of Oxford);
Let Me Entertain You , by Robbie Williams - "because there's never a dull moment with the U's" (from Jacqueline Darvill and Tessa Warner, of Woodstock).
The club also received a self-penned tune from a couple of 14-year-olds which included among its lyrics "Oxford United are going to win the league."
