A court case against the owners of a water-ski park where a 17-year-old jet skier was killed has been adjourned.

Thame magistrates agreed to wait until an inquest into the death of Faye Grundy, of Benson, has been completed later this month.

She died following a jet skiing incident during a family celebration at the Queensford Lake Watersports Centre, Berinsfield, last August 9.

She received massive stomach injuries and had her right leg amputated. She was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, but later died.

Twenty summonses have been served on Prestige Leisure, Queensford Waterski club and Lakes Estates Watersport Limited following an investigation by South Oxfordshire District Council's health and safety department.

The defendants were not in court and no plea was taken.

The council, which brought the prosecution, will use the adjournment period to prepare more information for the case.

The inquest takes place on August 27, and the case has been adjourned until October 1 at Henley Magistrates' Court.
