A mum-of-three hit a woman over the head with a pool cue after a lengthy feud.
Oxford magistrates heard that Devinia Morton, 38, carried out the assault on Margaret Kearney, in October last year.
Mrs Morton, 38, of Barton Village Road, Headington, who is training to be a bus driver, had pleaded not guilty to the attack, which caused a 3cm cut to her victim's head, but was found guilty at a trial earlier this year.
Michael Stace, defending, told the court that the attack was carried out after repeated provocation which dated back from 1992.
Mr Stace said Mrs Morton's victim had said to her on one occasion: "You've got no hot water on you today."
He added: "She regrets October 22 very deeply and regrets the facts of the injuries caused. There was just one strike."
Mrs Morton and her family are now considering moving house to avoid further confrontation.
Mrs Morton failed her first test to become a bus driver but is re-taking it. Her husband also drives buses.
Magistrates placed Mrs Morton on probation for 18 months and ordered her to complete 40 hours' community service.
