Searches by divers and a police helicopter have failed to recover the body of missing academic Dr Keith Cox.
Teams have been searching the spot near the island of Mull, Scotland, where Dr Cox's dinghy capsized but are now scaling down the operation. The world-renowned geologist, 65, of Bagley Wood Road, Kennington, had been holidaying with his wife, Gillian, when the tragedy happened.
Dr Cox and his wife, 59, spent three hours clinging to the hull of their boat after capsizing. They decided to swim to the shore as hopes of rescue faded. Mrs Cox made a heroic effort to raise help for her drowning husband, swimming for half an hour and scaling a 100ft cliff. But she later told police that he appeared to have had a heart-attack while still in the water.
