Heartbroken lovers Pamela Palmer and Graham Godwin, who were separated by thousands of miles after falling foul of Britain's immigration rules, have finally wed.
Pamela, 23, was devastated when she was told she would have to leave Britain on St Valentine's Day this year after landing at Gatwick airport from her native Canada.
She had flown to Britain for a romantic reunion with her fiance, Graham Godwin, of Bampton, after a short trip home.
Witney's Tory MP Shaun Woodward won her a week's grace but Pamela and Graham were forced to say a tearful farewell to each other.
But the story had a happy ending, with 31-year-old Graham and Pamela tying the knot in a ceremony in Pamela's state of Saskatchewan.
Pamela had to leave Britain as she had worked part-time on a previous visit, breaking the terms of her visa.
The couple are now back in this country living with Graham's parents, Evelyn and Frank, who run the Jubilee pub at Bampton.
Evelyn said: "They got married and Pamela now has the necessary visa so we are all very happy for them."s
