OXFORDSHIRE tennis star Tim Henman overcame the distractions of a frenetic Flushing Meadows to march into the third round of the US Open with a blistering performance of aggressive tennis.
British No 2 Henman eventually swept aside Spain's Felix Mantilla 6-3, 5-7, 7-5, 6-4 in two-and-a-half hours, but not until he had come to terms with the hustle and bustle of the 'Big Apple' which at times turned the aisles of stadium three court into something like the January sales.
He now faces a qualifier in either Michael Kohlmann or Arnaud Di Pasquale. COOL HAND TIM: Henman on the way to victory
