Police were today hunting youths who shot a woman while she was standing at a bus stop.
The incident happened at 8.15pm on Friday night when The middle-aged woman, who is not being named, was attacked when she was standing at the bus stop in Abingdon Road, Drayton, near the junction with Sutton Wick Lane.
She felt a sharp pain in her leg and later realised she had been shot.
The woman had to undergo surgery at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, to have an airgun pellet removed from her leg.
Police are appealing for witnesses and are keen to speak to the driver of a small dark car which drove past the bus stop about 8.15pm on Friday.
Det Con John Linsdale, of Abingdon CID, said: "This was a nasty attack and the woman was very shocked when she realised she had been shot.
"She received surgery at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford and is now recovering at home.
"The consequences of irresponsible use of airguns or other similar weapons could easily be fatal."
