A 90-year-old widow lost hundreds of pounds to intruders who forced their way into her home.
The two stockily-built men pushed their way in after the pensioner's son, who is in his 60s, answered a knock on their back door at the house in Wantage.
They told him they needed to look around the house to "see if everything was OK" then bundled him out of the way.
While one of the men kept the frightened pair distracted, the other made his way upstairs.
Minutes later they both left, and the couple discovered a purse containing several hundred pounds in cash was missing.
Det Con Mick Allport of Wantage CID, said the woman and her son had been terrified.
"They were so frightened that things didn't sink in as to what was happening," he said.
The intruders are believed to have both been aged about 30 years old, about 5ft 10ins tall, with black scruffy hair.
"We would like to hear from anyone who may have seen two men acting suspiciously in the Grosvenor Terrace area last Saturday at around 2pm," said DC Allport.
