CHARITY workers are trying to contact Oxford University graduate Rebecca Wright after fighting broke out in trouble-torn Albania.
Rebecca, 23, from Goring, has been working at a children's home in the port town of Durres, 35 miles from the capital Tirana, where clashes have taken place during the past few days.
Rebecca, who is working for the charity Hope and Homes for Children, has been out of contact because phone lines are down.
Director James Whiting said staff were "concerned but not panicking" about Rebecca's safety.
He said: "We are fairly confident that things are not as bad in Durres as they are in Tirana.
"The phone is down but in Albania that does not mean a riot is taking place and everything is going wrong.
"We try to keep in touch with our staff on a daily basis but if we can't get through there is very little that we can do. There are two armed guards outside the home."
He said staff situated in Albania had been evacuated on previous occasions when fighting broke out.
Hope and Homes for Children spokesman Kate Parker added: "Rebecca is very level-headed which should help her."
